Early Education

Shaykh Mubeen Raza was born and raised in Coventry, where he completed his early schooling and continued his formal education through to sixth form. During these formative years, he developed a strong academic foundation alongside an emerging interest in intellectual and spiritual enquiry.

He later pursued higher education at the University of Leeds, where he studied Human Physiology, graduating successfully with a BSc (Hons). This period refined his analytical skills and discipline, which would later support his engagement with the Islamic sciences.

Sacred & Advanced Studies

Following the completion of his university studies, Shaykh Mubeen Raza dedicated himself fully to the pursuit of sacred knowledge. He began his Islamic studies at Jamia tul Madina in both Bradford and Birmingham, where he undertook structured learning in the traditional sciences.

Seeking deeper scholarly immersion, he travelled to Pakistan, undertaking advanced studies in Karachi and Lahore. There, he was honoured to study under some of the most respected scholars of the age, including the eminent jurist and author of a detailed commentary on Jami al-Tirmidhi, Mufti Hashim Khan Attari, as well as the distinguished Quranic exegetist and master jurist Mufti Muhammad Qasim Attari.

Alongside formal Jamia studies, Shaykh Mubeen continued to benefit from a wider circle of scholars. He regularly studied with teachers such as Shaykh Asrar Rashid, and was especially honoured to learn from the senior-most of his teachers, the renowned teacher of thousands of scholars, Imam al-Mudarrisin, al-Allama Ghulam Muhammad Tonswi (may Allah have mercy on him), a leading student of the legendary Ustadh al-Kull, al-Imam Ataa Muhammad Bandyalwi (may Allah sanctify his secret).

Teaching & Scholarly Service

For close to a decade, Shaykh Mubeen Raza has been actively engaged in teaching the sacred sciences of Islam. His areas of particular interest and expertise include Arabic grammar and rhetoric, alongside the core disciplines of Hadith and Tafsir.

His teaching reflects a balance of academic rigour and accessibility, enabling students to engage meaningfully with classical texts while appreciating their relevance to contemporary life. Through lessons, study circles, and scholarly guidance, he has contributed to the intellectual and spiritual development of students at varying stages of their journey.

Projects & Teaching

In 2018, Shaykh Mubeen Raza founded Hijrah Press, an initiative born from a deep concern for the intellectual and spiritual needs of the modern Muslim world. Hijrah Press aims to produce high-quality Islamic literature that addresses contemporary challenges while remaining firmly rooted in mainstream, orthodox Sunni Islam.

The project focuses on both the translation of classical works by the great luminaries of the Islamic tradition and the publication of original works grounded in authentic scholarship. A key objective is to support students and teachers of the traditional Alim programme by providing reliable, well-produced resources to assist them on their path towards scholarly excellence.

Through Hijrah Press, Shaykh Mubeen Raza continues to serve the wider Ummah by facilitating access to sound knowledge for the English-speaking world, ensuring that the legacy of the sacred sciences remains vibrant and relevant for generations to come.
