Join Ziyara Tours on our upcoming trip to the lands of Iraq in Sept-Oct 2025, over the course of 9 nights and 10 days, you will visit some of the most significant sites in Iraq. From the Maqams of Prophets (AS) and Imams of Ahl al-Bayt to the Martyrs of Karbala and Maqams of Sahaba (RA), you will have the chance to witness first hand the places that are related to significant events in our history.
Our all-inclusive package includes flights, visas, hotels, breakfast, lunch, dinner, transportation, and guided tours. You’ll spend one night in Najaf, one night in Karbala, and five nights in Baghdad, where you’ll be able to explore the bustling city and its many attractions. From the sacred Maqams of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib and Imam Husayn (RA) to the blessed Maqams of Shaykh Abdul Qadir Al-Jailani and Imam Abu Hanifa (RA), you’ll experience the vast spiritual sites that Iraq has to offer.
This tour is led by qualified scholars, Shaykh Abdul Aziz. These respected scholars will provide insightful commentary on the history and significance of the sites we visit, we will also be joined by a Nasheed artist. Flight Schedule
Day 1 begins with your arrival at Basra International Airport at 7:10AM, followed by a one-hour journey to the hotel for check-in and lunch. The day’s ziyara includes visits to the revered resting places of Hasan al-Basri, Muhammad Ibn Sirin, and Rabia al-Basri al-Adawiya, as well as the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, Zubayr Ibn Awwam (RA), Utba Ibn Ghazwan (RA), and his servant Abd al-Rahman. You will also visit the historic Minaret of Sayyiduna Ali Ibn Abi Talib (RA). The day concludes with dinner and rest at the hotel.
Day 2 begins at 9AM with visits to the blessed resting places of Talha Ibn Ubaydillah (RA) and Anas Ibn Malik (RA) in Basra. The group will then embark on a three-hour journey to Nasriyah, where lunch will be served before visiting the maqam of Shaykh Ahmad al-Rifa’i. From there, the journey continues with a five-hour drive to Najaf, including a stopover for prayers and refreshments. Along the way, a lecture on the virtues of Sayyiduna Ali Ibn Abi Talib (RA) will be delivered on the coach. The day concludes with dinner at a restaurant, hotel check-in, and a visit to the sacred resting place of Sayyiduna Ali Ibn Abi Talib (RA).
Day 3 begins at 9AM with a short 30-minute journey to Kufa, where the group will explore the historic Grand Masjid of Kufa and its surrounding complex. Here, you will visit the location and mihrab where Sayyiduna Ali Ibn Abi Talib (RA) was struck, as well as the maqams of Muslim Ibn Aqil and Hani Ibn Urwah. The tour also includes a visit to the home of Sayyiduna Ali Ibn Abi Talib (RA), including the Ghusl Well associated with him. After lunch, the afternoon and evening are free for ziyara, ibadah, and shopping. Dinner will be provided, with an optional visit available to the maqams of Nabi Hud (AS) and Nabi Saleh (AS).
Day 4 begins at 8AM with a drive through the vast Wadi as-Salaam Cemetery before continuing on a 1.5-hour journey to Hilla. Here, the group will visit the maqams of Nabi Ayub (AS) and the Well of Shifa, the maqam of his blessed wife alongside her Well of Shifa, the resting place of Nabi Dhul-Kifl (AS), and the birthplace of Nabi Ibrahim (AS). The journey then continues with a 1.5-hour drive to Karbala, where lunch will be served, followed by hotel check-in. A lecture will be delivered in the hotel masjid as an introduction to Karbala before heading out to the historic battlefield and tents, as well as the Hill of Sayyidah Zaynab bint Ali Ibn Abi Talib (RA). The ziyara will include the sacred resting place of Sayyiduna Husayn Ibn Ali (RA), along with those of his family members Ali al-Akbar Ibn Husayn, Ali al-Asghar Ibn Husayn, Ibrahim Ibn Muhammad Ibn Musa al-Kazim, Habib Ibn Muzahir, and the 72 martyrs of Karbala. The visit continues with Sayyiduna Abbas Ibn Ali Ibn Abi Talib (RA). Dinner will be provided, with an optional 1.5-hour walking tour of Karbala available in the evening, which includes the shahadat places of Ali al-Akbar and Ali al-Asghar (RA), the martyred arms maqam of Abbas Ibn Ali Ibn Abi Talib (RA), and the Euphrates River.
Day 5 is reserved as a free day in Karbala, beginning with breakfast at the hotel. The day is open for personal ziyara, ibadah, and shopping at your own pace, allowing time for reflection and spiritual connection in the sacred city. Lunch and dinner will be provided.
Day 6 begins at 9AM with a visit to the maqam of Aun Ibn Abdullah Ibn Ja’far Ibn Abi Talib (RA), followed by a short 30-minute journey to Musayib to visit the resting places of the sons of Muslim Ibn Aqil Ibn Abi Talib (RA), Muhammad and Ibrahim, as well as the maqam of Hurr Ibn Yazid al-Tamimi (RA). The group will then travel on a 1.5-hour journey to Baghdad, where lunch will be served and hotel check-in completed. The afternoon includes visits to the maqams of Junayd al-Baghdadi, Sari al-Saqati, Nabi Yusha (AS), Behlul Dana, and Maruf al-Karkhi. The evening will feature a special Jummah night majlis, including the khalwa of Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jailani and the Well of the Saints. The day concludes with dinner.
Day 7 begins at 9AM with visits to the maqams of Shaykh Abu Bakr al-Shibli and Bish al-Hafi, followed by the blessed resting place of Imam Abu Hanifa. Jummah prayers will then be performed at the masjid of Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jailani, after which lunch will be served. The ziyara continues with Imam Musa al-Kazim, alongside Muhammad al-Jawad Ibn Ali al-Rida and Abu Yusuf, the esteemed student of Imam Abu Hanifa. The day concludes with a visit to the sacred resting place of Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jailani and dinner.
Day 8 begins at 9AM with visits to the maqams of Imam al-Ghazali, Shaykh Umar Suhrawardi, and Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal. After lunch, the journey continues with a one-hour drive to Mada’in, where the group will visit the sacred resting places of Salman al-Farisi (RA), Hudhayfa Ibn al-Yaman (RA), Abdullah Ibn Jabir (RA), and Ali al-Tahir Ibn Muhammad al-Baqir. The day also includes a visit to the historic Palace of Kisra. Dinner will be provided in the evening.
Day 9 begins at 10AM with a visit to the sacred resting place of Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jailani. The remainder of the day is free for ziyara, ibadah, and shopping, allowing time for reflection and personal devotion. Lunch and dinner will be provided. As we bid farewell to this beautiful land, we carry with us not just memories, but deeper insights, heightened spirituality, and a renewed sense of connection to our Islamic heritage. Day 10 marks the end of our remarkable journey. As we prepare for our return to the UK, we kindly advise all travellers to bring their bags down by 1AM. We will be departing sharply at 2AM to ensure a timely arrival at the airport for our 5:35AM flight.
